Maddison ‘Maddi’ Ball

Maddison 'Maddi' Ball is an Australian show horse rider who has been riding from a young age. Maddi is bright, vibrant and infectiously positive, everything we believe is important in a BARE Ambassador. Supporting such great young talent is something we are proud of, and love watching Maddi, her ponies and her continued achievements.
"I have worn BARE since I started riding 5 yrs ago solely because I love the clothing. Its comfortable, practical, looks and feels great. I love representing brands and products that I love and use regularly."
Quick questions with Maddi
WHICH ARE YOUR FAVOURITE BARE PRODUCTS AND WHY?

Honestly, I don’t really have a favorite. Can I say everything haha. I wear BARE 6 out of 7 days a week because I find it so comfortable to ride and just live in. During winter I am layered in a bare t’shirt, technical riding jacket, normally my lucie vest and sometimes even my hollie jacket along with my thermofit tights & BARE socks. In Summer its my BARE singlets tops normally paired with matching performance tights & Socks.
If you made underwear I would live in that too!
WHAT EQUESTRIAN ACHIEVEMENT ARE YOU MOST PROUD OF?
I have a few, sorry. I attended my first SHC show (Pacific Coast in 2019, 2 yrs after I started riding), on Pixi where I hardly got a look in compared to the other amazing rider & horses. I set myself a goal to qualify my horses myself for Grand Nationals by the time I was 18 as I thought that would be how long it would take me to get to such a prestigious show. I qualified Pixi the following yr in 2020 for both GN & EA Nationals at the HOTY’s. I am still so proud of myself for that achievement. Most recently Pixi’s Champion win at Sydney Royal & Reserve in the child’s at EA Nationals are some very big highlights of my riding career. I am also beyond excited and proud to have qualified Flame in his open at Grand Nationals too at the most recent Pacific Coast!
HOW DO YOU STAY MOTIVATED?
I absolutely love my horses and spending time with them so that makes it easy. The gratification in what we achieve and win when I do it all myself (with the help of strapper mum, however she doesn’t ride). I want to succeed; I want to win at GN & EA Nationals on my own. With me riding and training my horses, not putting someone more experienced or known on them. And eventually one day I would love to reach the Olympics in dressage.
WHAT IS YOUR BEST COMPETITION DAY TIP OR ADVICE?
Have fun! Mum always says to me there is no point doing it if your not having fun. Competition day is an opportunity to show off everything you have been working so hard in training on. My coach regularly tells me to trust your training and enjoy yourself. Also remember horses aren’t robots, they too will have bad days. AND be a good sport! Everyone wants to win just as bad as you, support and encourage your fellow competitors, we all have to start somewhere 😊
DO YOU HAVE A PARTICULAR GOAL OR PLAN YOU’RE EXCITED ABOUT IN 2022?
To qualify Flame for his child’s at GN and possibly gain some qualifications to EA Nationals too. I am super excited to compete at the upcoming EKKA – A show we have never attended before. Get back into Jumping more.
