Felicity Weal is not only an amazingly talented equestrian, but an absolute inspiration. A dressage rider, a wife, mum, artist and a para equestrian. We are excited to have Felicity in the BARE family as an ambassador and cannot wait to see what's in store for her next.

WHAT EQUESTRIAN ACHIEVEMENT ARE YOU MOST PROUD OF?

I am proud of many things in my equestrian career, but the most recent would be the best. Reserve National Grade 3 Champion at the ParaDressage Nationals at Boneo Park. On my young mare who is just starting to come out to some scary environments. It was a big week and we managed to get some good scores and came away with a 1st, and 2 2nds .

HOW DO YOU STAY MOTIVATED?

Like most people, I find it hard some days. Staying in routine is the biggest thing for me. It helps that I always need someone with me whilst riding so I can’t get out of training so easily! But if I’ve really hit a road block, I just think of what I want to achieve and sometimes I’ll go online and look at other riders I’d like to compete against, and that gives me motivation to improve to be at their level.

WHAT IS YOUR BEST COMPETITION DAY TIP OR ADVICE?

Eat breakfast! We are always so busy getting ready, or we get up so early that we don’t want to - and then forget to - eat! Miss lunch, DON’T MISS BREAKFAST!! It truly is the most important meal of the day and provides such a good start for your body, one that you especially need on competition days when you are using so much energy.

DO YOU HAVE A PARTICULAR GOAL OR PLAN YOU’RE EXCITED ABOUT IN 2022?

Big goal for 2022 is to compete at the Para Nationals again in October, but this time I’d like to step it up and compete in the FEI classes with my young mare. And of course aim for National Champion!

WHICH ARE YOUR FAVOURITE BARE PRODUCTS AND WHY?

Thermo Tights. I live in BARE tights, and through the winter I can continue to do so without my legs getting cold. I even use the black ones when going out to dinner!
